General Construction Foreman:
We are seeking motivated Construction Foremen and Building erectors, Framers, Laborers, and Carpenters, to join our team! You will participate in an array of different projects.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Construction Foreman to lead and oversee construction activities on-site. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a team of workers, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining the quality and efficiency of construction projects from start to finish. As a foreman, you will work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and other team members to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Supervise and direct a crew of workers on-site, providing guidance, motivation, and clear instructions.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers to schedule tasks, allocate resources, and manage daily work activities.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce safety policies and ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and industry standards. Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections.
- Quality Control: Monitor and ensure work is performed to the highest quality standards. Inspect completed work to verify conformance with specifications.
- Materials Management: Oversee the ordering, delivery, and storage of materials. Ensure that necessary materials are available on-site as required and track inventory.
- Problem Solving: Address and resolve any on-site issues, such as delays, equipment malfunctions, or worker concerns, while keeping the project on schedule.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate records of daily activities, work progress, and any issues encountered on the site. Communicate regularly with project managers regarding project status.
- Training & Development: Provide on-the-job training and mentorship to new workers, ensuring all team members understand their roles and responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a foreman or construction supervisor, with a solid background in residential, commercial, or industrial construction.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and direct a diverse team.
- In-depth knowledge of construction processes, methods, and best practices.
- Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and technical drawings.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with an ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in construction management or safety training are a plus.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, work in varying weather conditions, and stand or walk for extended periods.
Preferred Skills:
- OSHA certification or other safety training.
- Knowledge of construction software and project management tools.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- Experience with budgeting and cost control for construction projects.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position, typically requiring 40 hours per week. Overtime may be required depending on project deadlines.
- Physical demands include standing, lifting, walking, and working in various weather conditions.
- Travel to different job sites as needed.
