What are the responsibilities and job description for the Psychiatric Technician - Mankato Partial Hospitalization Program position at PrairieCare?
As a Psych Tech, you will:
- Assist in the observation, planning, intervention and evaluation of care for the patients within assigned area
- Ensure safety through constant monitoring of the milieu for potential hazards and reporting issues appropriately
- Conduct metal detection and belongings searches
- Effectively use therapeutic approaches to manage the milieu and de-escalate patients
- Keep the unit organized by notifying corect individual when supplied as low
- Sanitize program utensils, toys and other containers as needed
- Monitor the unit to ensure tidiness and cleanliness
- Facilitate groups as directed
- Perform clerifcal functions as directed
- Work under the direct supervision of the RN and perform tasks as delegated
Requirements
- Knowledge of mental health, generally gained through at least one year of experience with a college education in behavioral sciences and/or equivalent
- Oriented and educated in gender, culture and age appropriate care
- Ability to display a professional attitude in all aspects of performance
- Abiltiy to use Microsoft Office products, along with a fax and copy machine
