Reports to: Shipping Manager
Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping Clerk to join our manufacturing team specializing in corrugated paper products. This role ensures timely and accurate shipment of products, supports inventory management, and maintains smooth shipping operations in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Order Fulfillment:
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy and compliance with customer requirements.
- Verify product quantities, descriptions, and shipping labels match customer orders.
- Operate manual pallet jack to move products to the shipping area when necessary
- Shipping Coordination:
- Schedule carrier pickups and manage shipping documentation, including bills of lading and packing slips.
- Utilize shipping software to generate labels and track shipments.
- Communicate with carriers to resolve issues related to delays or damaged shipments.
- Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate inventory records by conducting routine stock checks and updating inventory systems.
- Report discrepancies or shortages to the Shipping Manager.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Follow all safety protocols, including the proper handling of corrugated materials and operation of equipment.
- Ensure shipments comply with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with the production and quality control teams to meet shipping deadlines.
- Support other departments as needed to optimize workflow and improve customer satisfaction.
- Assist with production scheduling
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Previous experience in scheduling regarding production support.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, warehouse operations (preferably in a manufacturing environment).
- Familiarity with handling corrugated paper products is a plus.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in shipping software (e.g., FedEx, UPS, or freight systems).
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and stand for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
