Tufts Medical Center and the Department of Orthopedics, is seeking a Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in hip and knee arthroplasty to join our faculty. Department of Orthopedics Overview: Integrated Healthcare: Tufts Medical Center, a Level I trauma center, is part of the Tufts Medicine Health System with over 700 affiliated doctors and a clinical affiliation with Tufts Medical Center. Research: We combine education and research with our expert care to deliver the best quality to our patients. Our acclaimed orthopedic clinical staff has contributed to new knowledge in the understanding of the causes of bone and joint disease, and has focused on studying the long-term outcomes of musculoskeletal conditions. Our mission is to develop new methods of treatment and to participate in research leading to new medical devices in order to promote patient health and human well-being in the ethical practice of orthopedic medicine. Collaboration: The Department of Orthopedics is engaged in a number of industry-sponsored research projects. Our surgeons work as part of a multidisciplinary team including physiatrists, physical therapists, anesthesiologists, neurologists, pain management specialists and radiologists. Responsibilities: The incumbent Orthopedic Surgeon will have the opportunity to work in a hip and knee arthroplasty-specific practice. Academic Setting. A passion for teaching is vital - our Department supports 20 residents annually as part of the Tufts Affiliated Residency program. Clinical research is also an integral piece of our practice, and is supported by a full-time departmental research coordinator. Community Focus. Practice at Tufts Medical Center, MelroseWakefield Hospital and our affiliate location in Medford, MA. Patient Focus. You can anticipate upwards of 200 arthroplasty cases in your first year of practice with Tufts. Teamwork. Collaborate and partner with our established team including our close-knit clinicians, surgical Physician’s Assistant, and administrative coordinator, allowing you to practice at the top of your license. State of the art. Preform surgeries confidently with the assistance of our Mako SmartRobotics™ robotic-arm assisted technology. Work shift Full time, with shared call of 1:7 or 1:8. Requirements: Physician (MD or DO) or foreign equivalent and board certification in Orthopedic Surgery and fellowship training in Arthroplasty to be fully licensed and credentialed as an attending physician at Tufts Medical Center and MelroseWakefield Hospital. Compensation: Tufts Medicine offers a competitive salary commensurate with academic training and practice experience. A Tufts University School of Medicine appointment will be offered commensurate with academic qualifications.
