What You Will Do:
The F135 Engine Design and System Integration (EDSI) Production and Field Support Team is seeking a Data Engineer. In this role the candidate will have responsibility for ensuring that the Life Management Table architecture supports integration with downstream system and is maintained to VAULTIS standards. The candidate will work at the direction of the lead architect to expand database features, ensuring part tracking and life management information is maintained and flowed to downstream systems. The candidate will query enterprise data systems to ensure integration with sustainment data products. The candidate will be responsible for identifying cross-system data misalignment, driving data management process change, and automating detection of process failure modes to ensure engineering intent is maintained across the F135 sustainment enterprise. This role requires integration with internal component groups (CIPT), Model Based Systems Engineering, and PW Sustainment organizations.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
The salary range for this role is 66,000 USD - 130,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

- Understand F135 Data Investigation team lessons learned
- Participate in Sustainment integration meetings and derive requirements for feature definition
- Maintain & continuously improve database features and data integration solutions (data pipelines & API endpoints)
- Support development & optimization of data models, database schemas, and data storage solutions
- Monitor data quality measures, collaborating with adjacent engineering & sustainment teams to ensure data accuracy & completeness
- Test database & data integration features and present results to ensure design intent to requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science/Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, or related field, and 2 years of prior relevant experience, or a Master's degree in Data Science/Engineering or related field.
- Proficiency in python & SQL
- US Citizenship required due to government contracts.
- 10% travel is anticipated.
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science/Engineering or Computer Science, with focus on database management systems
- Experience using Databricks
- Experience using Flask, Node.js, or equivalent web application frameworks
- Experience in F135 fleet sustainment or F135 data systems
