This posting is for an Engine Design & System Integration (EDSI) Propulsion Systems Analysis Engineer I position with particular focus on NPSS model development.
What You Will Do

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
The salary range for this role is 55,000 USD - 107,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This posting is for an Engine Design & System Integration (EDSI) Propulsion Systems Analysis Engineer I position with particular focus on NPSS model development.
What You Will Do
- Applying thermodynamic principles to a wide range of aircraft engine performance development topics such as product validation, control definition and optimization, cycle studies, and performance improvement packages for thrust, fuel burn, and functional improvements to the engine.
- Maintaining the NPSS model consistent with the cross section and configuration.
- Supporting engine performance trade studies by interfacing across program functional disciplines, implementing proposed changes in NPSS, analyzing results, proposing alternative solutions, and reporting findings through EDSIT.
- Creating performance table information for utilization by CIPTs and SSIPTs for analysis.
- Evaluating transient engine performance including compression system and combustor stability.
- Creating steady state and transient control schedules and providing analysis for the Control Requirements and Analysis Team (CRAT).
- Assessing risk to meeting system level performance and operability metrics.
- Reporting status against system level requirements and component level requirements.
- Representing the Systems Analysis group on Sub-System Integrated Product Teams (SSIPTs)
- Contributing to Discipline Councils and participating in program read-across where appropriate
- Contributing to subdisciplines’ process improvement strategy and tasks. Works deliberately to integrate and improve processes across subdisciplines.
- This position is a part of our Engineering Development Program (EDP). EDP participants will complete three to four rotations to build technical breadth and leadership abilities before graduating from the program.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
- Technical experience in Aero/Thermal disciplines
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance
- Relocation will be offered for those who qualify.
- Selected candidate will be automatically enrolled in the P&W Engineering Development Program (Rotational Program within P&W).
- Eligible for the Employee Scholar Program on Day 1.
- On the job training provided.
