Job Description
Successful Candidates will work in a team environment that is responsible for supporting
Praxis’s assembly and manufacturing division with metal fabrication, including sheet metal
fabrication, machined and additively manufactured parts. The candidates of the Custom
Fabrication and Additive Manufacturing department will be working with the team on a variety of
special projects for Praxis across industries, including aerospace and defense, consumer
product markets, entertainment, and more. Praxis’s goal is to find candidates that will utilize
their background, experience, imaginative thinking, and hard work to assist in the development
of the capabilities of the team, as well as the department as we expand into new industries.
Qualifications:
Successful Candidates should have experience or, at least, working knowledge of the following
areas:
Able to set up and configure Haas VF Series Mills and Nakamura AS-200L Mill-Turn
Lathes for each job, ensuring proper tooling, fixtures, and materials are in place.
Sometimes multiple times a day.
Minimum of 3 years of experience running Haas VF Series Mills and Nakamura AS-200L
Mill-Turn Lathes in a CNC machining environment.
Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
Solid understanding of inspection completed parts using precision measuring tools
(micrometers, calipers, CMM, gauges, etc.) to ensure they meet customer specifications
and quality standards.
Experience with G-code programming; ability to edit and optimize programs on the fly.
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality parts.
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks.
Excellent Problem-solving Skills And Troubleshooting Abilities.
High school diploma or equivalent (a technical degree or certification is a plus).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in low-volume production and prototype manufacturing.
Familiarity with CAD/CAM systems (SolidWorks and Mastercam)
Knowledge of machining different materials, including metals, plastics, and composites.
The ability to work in a strong team environment, collaborating with team members to
build parts that have never been built before.
Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and blueprints.
Strong experience operating Haas VF4, VF5, and Nakamura MillTurn lathe machines.
In-depth knowledge of G-code and M-code programming, tool offsets, and part fixturing
