What are the responsibilities and job description for the Materials Processing Technician position at Precinmac?
Major Tool & Machine is looking for a dependable technician to operate multiple pieces of Material Processing equipment to provide flexibility in skills to meet customer needs. Experience with one or more of the following types of equipment/process is preferred: roll forming, brake press, thermal machining center, and/or CNC saw. Ability to read blueprints, strong math skills, machining principles, welding fundamentals are all important skills for this position. This opening is for day shift. Flexible work schedule available of 4/10’s or regular M – F, after training is complete.
Roll Forming - Sets up and operates rolling machine to straighten, knurl or form contours in surfaces of metal cylinders and rings as specified by blueprints, templates, and work orders.
Brake Press - Set up and operates hydraulic press to form metal plates or sheet metal and structural shapes to blueprint or sketch specifications:
Thermal Machining Center - Sets up and operates thermal cutting machine which cuts metal plates and structural shapes to dimensions, contour and bevel specified by blueprints, layout, work order and templates
CNC Saw - Responsible for setting up and operating vertical contour-band saw to cut straight, curved, irregular, or internal patters in metal stock, according to specifications, utilizing knowledge of sawing techniques.
Job Qualification Requirements:
Educational Experience – Minimum High School diploma or GED. Trade school, vocational education, work experience, or apprenticeship preferred.
Experience – Prefer some related skill set of training or work experience of at least three months.
Compensation:
- This position is hourly. Starting rate for candidate meeting the skill requirement is $20/hour minimum.
- Skills based pay reviews occur two times annually.
- Shift Premium for 2nd and 3rd shift positions is 15% of base pay.
- Quarterly bonus potential of up to 10% of eligible earnings, based on company performance.
