Precious Moments is looking for an experienced GENERAL ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT - Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable based out of our Carthage, Missouri office.
This full time position maintains first line responsibility for ensuring accurate & timely payment of vendors, categorizing expenses, helping to ensure accurate posting to the general ledger by reviewing & entering invoices received, and accurately posting payment to customer's accounts.
Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To
Checks all vouchers for payment to ensure accurate coding on GL accounts
Prepares & mails accounts payable checks
Prints accounts payable reports & maintains all accounts payable files.
Reconciles vendor accounts.
Prepares invoice deduction notices, as necessary.
Prepares analysis of general ledger accounts.
Ensures that customer invoices are processed, posted & forwarded to the customer for payment in a timely manner.
Reviews warehouse batch audits to process invoices.
Prepares invoices & posts transactions to accounting records.
Processes daily credit card deposits
Enters finalized cash receipts and updates accounts receivable ledger
Prepares daily cash deposits and fills out cash control sheet daily.
Totals & summarizes funds received, endorses checks and prepares bank deposits.
Completes sales tax reports
Answers AP and AR inquiries and follow up
Handles AR collection correspondence
A High School Diploma or GED is required. Associates degree or additional college preferred. At least 1 year of general office experience required, previous AP experience preferred. Must be organized & detail oriented. Must be able to handle confidential information. Must be customer service focused for both external and internal customers and demonstrate a willingness to support other team members. Requires excellent written & verbal communication skills.
Computer Skills
Proficient keyboard skills
Intermediate knowledge of Windows/Microsoft Office Suite, with high proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Experience with Great Plains or other accounting software programs is a plus.
