What are the responsibilities and job description for the Automation Engineer position at Precis Engineering + Architecture?
We are currently seeking experienced Automation Engineer (Rockwell or Allen Bradley) to join our team.
As part of this role, your primary focus will be on developing, programming, and testing these PLC systems with HMI and SCADA.
Additionally, you will also be actively involved in on-site installation and commissioning activities.
Job Responsibilities:
Collaborate with customers to design and develop PLC systems with HMI and SCADA, ensuring their specific requirements are met.
Program and thoroughly test the system to ensure optimal functionality and troubleshoot any issues that may arise during installation and commissioning.
Conduct training sessions for operators and maintenance personnel to ensure their proficiency in operating and maintaining.
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including PLC, HMI, and SCADA programs, user manuals, and maintenance procedures.
Work closely with customers to ensure their satisfaction by meeting their specific requirements and ensuring the functionality of the systems.
Provide technical support to customers during and after the installation and commissioning phases.
Contribute valuable insights on design and functionality during product development meetings.
Requirements (experience/skills):
Holds a bachelors degree in electrical/chemical Engineering. (Associate degree is acceptable with more experience)
Has a minimum of 5-10 years of experience in programming Rockwell PLC systems with HMI and SCADA.
Possesses strong knowledge of programming languages such as Ladder Logic, Function Block Diagrams, and Structured Text.
Ability to develop program from customer provided documents, such as FRS, SDS.
Proficiency in Rockwell Automation Software Suite, including Rockwell Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View ME, and FactoryTalk View SE, is A MUST.
Nice to have experience with PanelView.
Exhibits excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Can work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Must travel to customer sites for installation and commissioning as required. (local to the Cary area)
