A Quality Technician is responsible for inspecting and testing products throughout the manufacturing process to ensure they meet established quality standards, identifying defects, and taking corrective action to prevent substandard products from reaching customers, by performing thorough examinations, measurements, and tests using specialized equipment while adhering to company quality procedures and documentation.

Key responsibilities may include:

  • Product Inspection:

Visually examining products for defects, inconsistencies, or damage, using appropriate tools like calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

  • Quality Testing:

Conducting various tests on products to verify compliance with specifications, including dimensional checks, functional testing, and material analysis.

  • Data Collection and Analysis:

Recording inspection results, identifying trends, and reporting findings to quality engineers or supervisors.

  • Non-Conformance Reporting:

Documenting any deviations from quality standards, initiating corrective actions, and escalating issues as needed.

  • Process Monitoring:

Observing production processes to identify potential quality issues and recommend improvements.

  • Calibration and Maintenance:

Ensuring proper calibration of testing equipment and performing routine maintenance checks.

  • Documentation:

Maintaining detailed records of inspection activities, including data entry and reporting.

Required Skills:

  • Attention to detail: Ability to carefully scrutinize products for even minor defects
  • Technical skills: Knowledge of quality control methods, testing procedures, and relevant equipment operation
  • Analytical thinking: Ability to interpret data, identify root causes of quality issues, and propose solutions
  • Problem-solving skills: Identifying and resolving quality issues promptly
  • Communication skills: Clearly documenting findings, reporting issues to relevant personnel, and collaborating with production teams

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma with relevant experience in quality control or manufacturing
  • Associate's degree in Quality Assurance or a related field may be preferred
  • Prior experience in a quality inspection role within a manufacturing environment is beneficial

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
