Responsibilities:
- Developing and maintaining technical documents, including software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, and user documentation.
- Writing and editing technical documentation for project hardware and software, including installation, configuration, and how-to documentation.
- Assisting in preparing and maintaining operations documentation, user guides, and manuals, as well as technical publications.
- Gathering technical information, preparing written text.
- Maintaining an up-to-date internal documentation library.
- Using multiple word processing and presentation tools such as MS Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Preparing and maintaining operations documentation, user guides, and manuals, as well as technical publications.
- Coordinating layout and design of documents.
- Researching highly technical subject matter, organizing information from multiple sources, and expressing technical information in written form that is comprehensible to a wide audience of readers.
- Applying concepts for technical writing based on engineering drawings, technical information from engineering documentation, consultations with engineers, and subject matter experts, and other available sources.
- Producing defense acquisition documentation, user manuals, training manuals, and other documentation utilized by the end-user community of DoD electronic equipment and systems.
- Interpreting engineering and maintenance drawings, operational procedures to understand and blend large quantities of computer-related information.
- Working independently to prepare and maintain highly complex systems, programming, and operations documentation, procedures, and methods.
- Ten (10) years' experience as a Technical Writer in DoD Weapon Systems programs is required.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
