We are looking for a skilled, Senior Design Engineer to join our team, specializing in 3D printing technologies and advanced/additive manufacturing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and modifying 3D models and technical drawings using CAD software to support our additive manufacturing processes. You will work closely with other engineers, operations, and leadership to deliver models critical to the success of the company.

Responsibilities:
- Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD models for components and products, both for the printers themselves as well as printed products.
- Design complex parts with an understanding of material properties and structural integrity.
- Modify existing designs to enhance manufacturability and performance for additive manufacturing.
- Optimize CAD models for 3D printing, including part orientation, supports, and minimizing material usage while maintaining part strength.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, specifications, and best practices.
- Perform simulations and feasibility studies to predict the performance and behavior of parts under different conditions.
- Troubleshoot design issues and recommend improvements for manufacturability and quality.
- Stay up to date with advancements in CAD software and 3D printing technologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 10 years minimum of experience as a Design Engineer, preferably in the 3D printing or additive manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Rhino, or Fusion 360.
- Familiarity with 3D printing technologies such as FDM, SLA, SLS, and metal 3D printing.
- Strong understanding of material properties, tolerances, and design principles for 3D printing.
- Experience with converting 3D models into printer-ready formats (e.g., STL, OBJ) and optimizing for additive manufacturing.
- Knowledge of design for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA) principles.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
- Learning agility and ability to learn new tools and software quickly.
- Self-starting and self-motivated way of working.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with generative design and topology optimization tools.
- Familiarity with post-processing techniques for 3D printed parts.
- Hands-on experience with 3D printers and troubleshooting printing issues.
- Knowledge of simulation software (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus) for stress and thermal analysis.
- Understanding of rapid prototyping and product development cycles.
Salary : $100,000 - $150,000
