Precision Aerospace LLC is seeking a dedicated Quality Inspector to perform first piece and final inspections on fabricated sheet metal and precision machined parts. The ideal candidate will ensure products meet rigorous quality standards and customer specifications.
- Perform mechanical (layout) inspections for first piece, in-process, final, and receiving inspections.
- Maintain and complete all required Quality Control documentation with accuracy and timeliness.
- Ensure proper upkeep of Quality Control records, including DIPS, first piece inspection sheets, SPC data, certifications, and customer-required documents.
- Conduct receiving inspections for incoming materials such as castings, special materials, and outsourced processes.
- Determine product acceptance or rejection based on technical requirements and quality standards.
- Effectively manage multiple and shifting priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Follow both written and verbal instructions with attention to detail and clarity.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing quality and efficiency.
- Consistently promote a positive image of Precision Aerospace LLC through professional conduct and teamwork.
- Perform other reasonable duties as required by business and operational needs.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or hold a Permanent Resident Card.
- Proven ability to understand and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a first article inspection role within the Aerospace Machining industry.
- Strong working knowledge and practical application of geometric tolerancing standards.
- Advanced proficiency in using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMMs).
- Highly skilled in reading and interpreting aerospace engineering drawings, specifications, and customer documentation.
- Demonstrated expertise in plate layout inspection techniques.
- Ability to effectively prioritize workload based on direction from QC and CNC managers.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
- Exceptional organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail, with strong time management and follow-up capabilities.
- Competency with Microsoft Office applications and general computer proficiency.
- Strong quality-first mindset with a proactive, hands-on approach—committed to getting it right the first time.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
The physical demands of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Frequent activities include: sitting, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing, writing, and typing.
- Occasional lifting of materials or equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Occasional physical movements such as: reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, fingering, grasping, feeling, twisting, bending, and performing repetitive motions.
- Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to: earplugs, safety glasses, safety shoes, and other safety gear as required.
