Upon training, under the leadership of the Director of Antibody Production, the Research Assistant will be responsible for performing assigned tasks of various antibody production and purification projects along with various immunological, biochemical and analytical assays. This position requires excellent time management and organizational skills.
This is an entry-level position, training is provided. Great opportunity for recent grads.

Duties
- Perform work adhering to SOPs and Project Specs.
- Perform hybridoma cell culture for antibody development and production projects.
- Perform immunoassays associated with the project goal.
- Perform basic biochemical assays (gel electrophoresis and protein assays).
- Perform tissue culture in aseptic conditions from small scale to large scale.
- Maintain log of cells stored in liquid nitrogen.
- Maintain records that will provide traceability for all projects using appropriate forms.
- Perform all tasks in a timely manner with high quality and reproducibility.
- Shared responsibility for monitoring and topping liquid nitrogen tanks.
- Promptly communicate with supervisor regarding unexpected events such as product delays, low-yields, errors, and cell culture contamination.
- Assist the Director of Production to maintain a production schedule.
- Ability to work with small laboratory animals.
- Maintain the laboratory in a clean and organized state.
- Other duties as assigned by the director.
Skills
- Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in scientific discipline or equivalent required.
- Manual dexterity required to operate standard laboratory equipment (i.e. pipette, etc.).
- Must demonstrate organizational skills and be able to handle multiple assignments with short deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Ability to work independently in the lab.
- Ability to work well as part of a team.
- Ability to handle small animals (mice) is required.
- Familiarity with laboratory protocols and safety practices is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge in hybridoma technology and automation for high throughput screening and experience in a variety of biochemical and cellular assay techniques.
- Knowledge with tissue culture practices and good sterile technique.
- Familiar with automation and software.
