We currently have a position open for a Machine Shop Technician Apprentice position at Trace Aviation, Jackson, MS location.
JOB PURPOSE
The Machine Shop Apprentice Technician role will involve using manual lathes, mills, presses, etc. to perform machining functions (repairs, etc.) on aircraft landing gear components and parts.
Essential Job Functions:
- Utilize manufacturers and internal technical data to perform repair processes.
- Use machining equipment to perform approved repairs to components and parts.
- Use precision measuring instruments to dimensionally inspect components and parts during and/or after repair processes.
- Document repair/inspection results in internal computer database programs.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Demands: Requires sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Requires frequent walking, bending, and reaching to shoulder level. Requires occasional squatting, lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling weight up to 50 pounds. Requires repetitive hand movement. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

Experience: Machine shop (manual machines) experience preferred.
