Position Summary:
The Facilities Supervisor will manage the day-to-day operations of the facility, ensuring that all non-maintenance-related functions are executed efficiently. This role includes overseeing facility operations, coordinating space management, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and liaising with external service providers to maintain the operational readiness of the plant.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Facility Operations:
- Oversee general facility operations, including building space management, room allocations, and optimization of plant layout to support manufacturing activities.
- Coordinate facility use across different departments to ensure seamless and efficient operations.
- Manage the plant’s utilities (e.g., electricity, water, heating/cooling, lift truck fleet, waste water and operators) in collaboration with the relevant departments to ensure optimal resource usage and sustainability.

Safety and Compliance:
- Work with EHS to ensure facility complies with all local, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
- In conjunction with EHS, manage safety programs, including regular facility inspections, audits, and drills (e.g., fire drills, emergency preparedness).
- Ensure that all required records are maintained for safety audits and regulatory inspections.

Vendor and Service Management:
- Manage third-party service providers, including janitorial, waste management, security, and other facility-related vendors.
- Monitor and evaluate vendor performance to ensure adherence to contractual agreements and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Oversee the scheduling of services, ensuring minimal disruption to daily operations.

Facility Budget and Resource Management:
- Help develop and manage the facility’s operational budget, tracking expenses related to utilities, services, and operational needs.
- Ensure the effective use of resources to minimize waste and maintain cost-effectiveness without compromising the quality of service.
- Assist with procurement of non-maintenance-related services, ensuring that vendors are compliant with company standards and requirements.

Space Planning and Office Management:
- Coordinate space planning activities to support operational requirements, including workstation allocation, meeting room availability, and office space utilization.
- Work closely with HR and other departments to ensure efficient and effective use of facility space as the company grows or shifts.
- Oversee the layout and design of the facility to ensure that it meets operational needs and aligns with the company’s goals.

Health, Safety, and Environmental Programs:
- Collaborate with the EHS team to implement and monitor health, safety, and environmental policies, ensuring a safe and healthy workplace for all employees.
- Ensure that the plant is equipped with necessary emergency response plans (e.g., evacuation routes, first aid kits, etc.).

Continuous Improvement:
- Identify and recommend opportunities for operational efficiencies within the facility.
- Implement initiatives aimed at sustainability, energy savings, and reducing the environmental footprint of the plant.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with operations, HR, and production teams to support the business’s needs.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for facility-related issues that are not maintenance-related, including room bookings, space allocation, and operational concerns.
Required Skills:
- Strong understanding of facility operations, safety regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Experience with managing vendor relationships and third-party service contracts.
- Knowledge of space planning, office organization, and resource management.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with facilities management software and systems (e.g., CAFM or CMMS).
Experience & Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience preferred.
- 3 years of experience in facilities management, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Previous experience in aerospace or similar regulated industries is a plus but not required.
Working Conditions:
- The position is based in a manufacturing environment, with possible exposure to loud machinery and industrial equipment.
- Constant exposure to moderate noise
- Exposure to hazardous chemical environment
- Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes, odors, hot / cold temperatures, inside / outside noise vibration, standing on concrete for long hours and wet or uneven surfaces.
- The Facilities Supervisor May need to oversee activities during off-hours or weekends depending on the plants needs.
- The role may require occasional travel to vendor sites or for special facility related tasks.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to thirty-five (35) pounds on a repetitive basis.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, climb, kneel, twist and work at heights on an intermittent basis for up to twelve (12) hours.
- Requires hand manipulation including simple grasping, pushing and pulling of materials.
- Must be able to safety operate an overhead crane and forklift.
- Must be able to reach and work above and below the shoulder level.
- Must be able to work with and around forklifts and hazardous machinery.
- Must be able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment.
