As a full time Supervisor, Inspection, you are responsible for planning, coordination and direction of 1st and 2nd shift manufacturing activities in our quality department. This includes supervision and coordination of training of the hourly union workforce to meet required quality, budget and production standards in the department/shift to which the Supervisor is assigned. Weekends as needed on a rotation basis.

Job Responsibilities:

· Provides leadership, guidance, and direction to the hourly union personnel assigned to the department/shift and including making work assignments.

· Establish, define and coordinate respective shift work assignments in relation to contractual requirements, personnel qualifications, and production schedules and skill capabilities.

· Act as coordinator for the Director, Quality Engineering in NDT Testing related activities with vendors, customers and other internal associates.

· Assist in the fabrication of components by performing the inspections and tests required to ensure quality requirements are maintained.

· Coordinate all NDT to support company production. Ensure technicians are properly qualified to conduct the specified testing with the necessary equipment and maintenance.

· Adequately documenting the NDT process to avoid delays resulting in errors and omissions.

· Monitor performance and efficiency of employee's work efforts and take initiative to correct deficiencies.

· Maintain accurate records related to department/shift activities.

· Educate department workforce in the importance of performing all activities in accordance with established safety practices.

· Support resolution of safety deficiencies within the department.

· Control work assignments to support shipment objectives.

· Assist in development of improved methods of testing which result in improved efficiencies as well as reductions in cost.

· Enforce company work rules and implement disciplinary action when necessary.

· Attend and participate in production control meetings to ensure support of established priorities.

· Report any equipment breakdowns and coordinate repairs to maintain production schedules

· Provide timely communication to all shifts in matters pertaining to inspection policy, production needs and implementation of all directives relating to quality requirements.

Education: Associate’s Degree in Engineering or science or equivalent. Experience in the field of quality control, dimensional inspection, and/or non-destructive examination. Must demonstrate ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.

Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of experience in quality assurance and/or nondestructive examination and dimensional inspection. This individual must have general knowledge of different industrial processes associated with heavy metal testing, and a thorough knowledge of measurement methods and nondestructive examination procedures.

Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory/management experience. Must possess the ability to organize and direct work assignments in an effective well-coordinated manner.

Computer Skills: Excellent computer skills required. Must have a working knowledge of ERP Systems, Microsoft applications such as WORD, Excel and Outlook.

Other Skills/Abilities:

· Must be a self-starter and must demonstrate strong leadership capabilities and skills.

· Must be people oriented to develop good supervisor-employee relationships.

· Must be capable of effectively supervising personnel in an atmosphere where the personnel are represented for collective bargaining purposes.

· Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

· Excellent written and verbal communications skills

· Ability to multi-task and support multiple priorities/multiple deliverables.

· US Citizenship required at time of hire.

Pay: $67,000.00 - $77,000.00 per year
