Duties
- Assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear based on their prescription and lifestyle needs.
- Perform fittings and adjustments of eyeglasses and contact lenses.
- Maintain accurate patient records in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Applying insurance benefits to purchases
- Educate patients on proper eyewear care and usage.
- Process orders for optical products, including lenses and frames.
- Manage the frame boards and inventory
- Utilizing EMR software for patient care
- Stay updated on the latest optical trends, technologies, and products to provide informed recommendations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Optician or in a related optical field is preferred.
- Familiarity with Compulink EMR is a plus.
- Strong sales skills with the ability to effectively communicate product benefits to patients.
- Experience working in senior care or pediatrics is desirable but not mandatory.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a clinical setting while maintaining professionalism at all times.
- Commitment to upholding patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
- A strong focus on patient care, customer service, and teamwork is essential. Experience in ophthalmology or optometry is preferred.
- A skills assessment in our office may be required.
