Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough eye examinations to assess vision and detect eye diseases.
- Diagnose and manage various ocular conditions and diseases.
- Prescribe corrective lenses, including glasses and contact lenses.
- Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients on proper eye care, treatment options, and preventive measures.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Stay updated with advancements in optometry practices and technologies.
- Provide excellent customer service to enhance patient satisfaction.
- Assist in optical sales by recommending appropriate eyewear based on patient needs.
Experience
- Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited institution is required.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred but not mandatory. New Grads Welcome
- Strong knowledge of physiology related to vision and ocular health.
- Familiarity with pediatric optometry is a plus, as well as experience in handling pediatric patients.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and customer service.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team while maintaining professionalism.
