Position Summary :

The Associate Optometrist plays a crucial role as the primary eye care provider within our practice. In addition to clinical duties, this position offers opportunities for leadership, mentorship, and contributing to our commitment to exceptional patient care. Key Responsibilities :

  • Clinical Performance Objectives :

Conduct Comprehensive Eye Exams : Perform thorough and ethical eye exams using state-of-the-art optometric equipment, and provide detailed diagnostic interpretations.

  • Diagnose and Treat Eye Conditions : Identify and manage a diverse range of ocular diseases, including but not limited to glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration. Develop and implement appropriate follow-up care and treatment plans.
  • Eyeglass Services : Precisely prescribe, fit, and adjust eyeglasses to meet the visual needs of patients. Offer clear explanations of prescriptions and recommendations.
  • Contact Lens Fittings : Expertly fit, prescribe, and educate patients on contact lenses, including specialized lenses and solutions for myopia management. Ensure patients are well-informed on proper lens care and usage.
  • Patient Education : Provide comprehensive education on ocular health, preventive care strategies, and lifestyle modifications to support long-term vision health and wellness.
  • Technology Utilization : Proficiently interpret and report results from diagnostic tests such as Optos, OCT, VF, topography, pachymetry, and retinal and anterior segment photography. Utilize advanced technology to enhance patient care and treatment outcomes.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork : Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including ophthalmologists, opticians, and primary care providers, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
  • Continuous Learning and Development : Stay current with advancements in optometry by attending conferences, workshops, and pursuing additional certifications. Continuously seek opportunities for professional growth and skill enhancement.
  • Community Engagement : Participate in community outreach programs, health fairs, and educational events to promote eye health awareness and provide vision screenings to underserved populations.
  • Quality Assurance : Implement and maintain quality assurance protocols to ensure the highest standards of patient care and safety. Regularly review and update clinical procedures to reflect best practices and industry advancements.
  • Research and Innovation : Stay informed about the latest research and developments in optometry to incorporate evidence-based practices into patient care. Explore opportunities for research collaborations and contribute to advancements in the field.
  • Ideal Candidate :

  • Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution
  • State licensure to practice optometry
  • Strong clinical skills and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
