Job Description
As a Senior Engineering Support Specialist, you will play a key role in sustaining and expanding human access to space. You will collaborate with various departments to ensure timely delivery of high-value space hardware.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain the PDM system
- Ensure configuration control plan adherence throughout product life cycles
- Lead lower-level Engineering Support Specialists in daily activities
- Produce engineering drawings and models at the highest fidelity and standard
- Evaluate, improve, and develop processes supporting configuration control plans
- Sustain, expand, and improve CAD-based tools for standardization, efficiency, and uniform design feature application
- Manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
- Ensure designs meet manufacturing, technical, and customer requirements
- Guarantee design projects are completed within budget and timeframe
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering or relevant technical degree
- Fluency in SOLIDWORKS and SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional with administration, database, and workflow development experience in production environments
- Demonstrated 10 years of mechanical design experience with appropriate certification or education
- Executed change management and new release in production environments
- Ability to augment engineering design intent with best practices per ASME Y.14
- Excellent technical writing, grammar, and presentation skills
- Experience with quality management systems
- Strong organizational and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of national aerospace specifications for materials and components
- Able to execute basic analyses of hardware using standard process tools
- Experience with cryogenic applications, pressurized systems, springs, seals, and bolted joints
- Aircraft, spacecraft, test facility, or launch vehicle experience
- Experience implementing and maintaining SOLIDWORKS Inspection
