The Door Design Manager is responsible for driving outside sales growth and maximizing revenue across the Door Design Team in the Clearwater market. This role focuses on providing exceptional customer experiences, guiding homeowners through the garage door selection process, and ensuring seamless project execution. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing strategic sales plans, collaborating with the Inside Sales Manager and team to optimize lead conversion, and fostering strong relationships with customers to enhance trust and satisfaction. Additionally, the Door Design Manager is responsible for carrying their own book of business while also overseeing sales meeting creation, sales modeling, strategic planning, sales forecasting, and metric analysis to track performance and identify opportunities for improvement. This position requires strong leadership, a deep understanding of product offerings, and the ability to effectively communicate the value of Precision Garage Door’s solutions while executing long-term strategies for sustained market success.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve and exceed revenue and profitability targets.
  • Guide, train, and support an outside sales team to adopt industry best practices for customer engagement.
  • Build, manage, and grow a personal customer base.
  • Train team to assist potential customers who have not yet committed to working with Precision Garage Door, by providing them with clear, logical, and compelling reasons to make a confident decision to proceed with our services.
  • Develop best practices and SOPs for solving customer issues, complaints, and follow-up interactions.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align sales strategies with the company’s overall vision and objectives.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing team, including inside sales representatives and project coordinators.
  • Set clear performance goals and KPIs for team members, providing regular coaching and feedback.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team culture that prioritizes customer satisfaction and accountability.
  • Oversee the development and execution of sales processes and tools to ensure efficiency and consistency.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics, generating actionable insights to optimize results.
  • Work closely with Marketing and Operations teams to ensure seamless execution of projects and customer satisfaction.
  • Leverage CRM tools and technologies to track customer interactions, manage leads, and improve the overall sales pipeline.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance team efficiency and overall customer experience.
  • Meet and exceed individual and team sales targets, contributing to the overall revenue growth of the organization.
  • Keep abreast of industry developments, competitive landscape, and emerging trends to identify new sales opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date forecasts; provide supervisor with reports on sales activities and projects as requested.
  • Coordinate emergency installations with Door Installation Manager.
  • Provide direct supervisor with sales metrics on a weekly basis.
  • Stay up to date on garage door industry products and processes.
  • Follow Precision’s set sales process.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager.

Education, Experience, Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field preferred.
  • Must have 5 to 10 years of experience in field.
  • Proven sales executive experience, meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Ability to identify and solve client issues strategically.
  • Ability to communicate, present and influence all levels of the organization, including executive level
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
  • Proven ability to position products against competitors
  • Demonstrable experience as head of sales, developing client-focused, differentiated and achievable solutions
  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Competent with Microsoft Office Suite and spreadsheets
  • Must possess basic mathematical skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
  • Analytical ability to develop and implement improvements or recommendations.
  • Able to work well with senior executives and team, as well as mentor/lead other team members
  • Ability to deliver quality work on tight deadlines, with strong organization and priority-setting skills.

Physical Requirements

Must possess mobility to work in a standard work setting and work with and around a variety of equipment, parts, and inventory, strength, stamina, and mobility to perform physical work; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. The job involves walking and working on slippery surfaces. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee must possess and is regularly required to use finger, feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, climb, sit, stand, talk, and must have hearing and visual acuity, frequent near vision use, exceptional hand-eye coordination, frequent stressful conditions and make repetitive motions, overhead lifting, and work for extended hours to perform work. Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds and heavier weights with the proper equipment and assistance.

Compensation

$1,100 weekly base OR 14% commission, whichever is greater
