Steadily growing manufacturing company seeking Powder Coat Technician with possibility of a lead position depending on experience. This person will be preparing and coating parts for customers all around the world and must ensure the smooth flow of products through our coating process. Applicant must be able to remain organized, clean, positive, and helpful in a very fast paced and sometimes stressful environment. Exceptional eye for perfection and the willingness to correct mistakes/problems are a must. We strive to build absolute top quality components and we expect that in every step of the process.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare part surfaces for powder coat/painting such as sand blasting, scraping, and masking
- Prepare parts surfaces, load parts on racks, Spray Powder Coat, maintain machines and keep work area clean
- Complete sand-blasting and powder coat operations within a given time frame and according to written and verbal specifications
- Coordinate the staging, sequencing, and hanging of parts based on production while working with other employees both inside and outside the department
- Inspect components during and after processing to ensure quality standards.
- Work with precision to achieve desired results
- Assist in maintenance, cleaning, and repair of equipment as assigned.
- Keep all work areas, including the staging area, clean and organized,
- Maintain general work areas and/or equipment used in a clean and orderly condition.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment
- Follow and adhere to prescribed safety regulations and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Ability to learn procedures, tasks, and operations through on-site training from a senior member of the staff.
- Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions and maintain good attitude
- Monitor quality of own work and report to supervisor defective material, unusual conditions and operating difficulties.
- Keep required time and/or production records
- Must have experience using hand tools and air tools
- Desire & ability to follow safety procedures
- Excellent time management
- Strong attention to detail and quality craftsmanship
- Possess the desire to do the right thing for our customers
Department Lead Requirements:
· Min 2 years of previous leadership experience
· Ability to manage inventory and order supplies in advance so there are no delays in production
· Min 2 years experience maintaining all related equipment
· Ability to manage the department with minimal outside assistance
· Must have full understanding and knowledge of all laws and regulations related to all aspects of the powder coating process with the ability to adhere to them and ensure all others within department.
· Must have excellent scheduling and planning skills to ensure a smooth flow of orders in a timely manner.
