As an Unarmed Security Officer at Precision Security Team, you will play a key role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for the public at your assigned location. Your responsibilities will include addressing security concerns and handling requests as needed to ensure the safety and satisfaction of clients and the community.

Every Security Officer at Precision Security Team is entrusted with delivering an exceptional experience for our clients while safeguarding their interests. It is essential to uphold the company’s professional image at all times—whether interacting with clients, the public, or law enforcement.

As a member of our team, you are expected to embody and demonstrate Precision Security Team’s core values and code of conduct in all aspects of your work.

Your schedule would be 8:00 am-5:00 pm Monday through Friday for 40 hours per week. Please do not apply if this schedule does not work with your availability.

Because this position is in a diverse public setting, the ability to communicate with patrons in both English and Spanish is strongly preferred, but not required.

Upon hire, candidates must complete Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) training and obtain certification to handle sensitive criminal justice information securely. This includes understanding data confidentiality and authorized access, in compliance with law enforcement regulations.

Critical Roles of the Position:

Interacting with Clients, Patrons, Guests, Partners, Coworkers, and the Public: Serve as a professional and approachable point of contact, offering assistance and information to clients, patrons, and visitors. Build positive relationships through clear communication and friendly interactions while maintaining a strong security presence. Work collaboratively with partners and coworkers to ensure a cohesive and secure environment for all.

Technology Savvy/Report Writing: Utilize security systems, surveillance equipment, and communication devices efficiently to monitor activities and ensure site safety. Maintain accurate and detailed reports on daily activities, incidents, and observations, using digital tools and software as required. Stay updated on security technology and reporting protocols to adapt to site-specific needs.

Strong Social and Communication Skills: Effectively interact with courthouse staff, legal professionals, and the public. Maintain a calm and professional demeanor when providing directions, answering questions, or de-escalating tense situations. Must be able to write clear and concise incident reports when necessary.

Proactivity During Downtime: Stay alert and engaged during lulls by monitoring courthouse surroundings, assisting visitors, verifying credentials, or conducting security walkthroughs. Anticipate potential security concerns and address them before they escalate.

Precision Security Team or the client can assign other duties to you as necessary at any time.

Pay: This W2 position pays $20.25. Employees who work 30 or more hours a week are eligible for health benefits such as medical, dental, vision, life, accident, and hospital indemnity insurance. Colorado offers additional benefits to all employees, including the Family and Medical Leave Insurance (FAMLI) program, which provides paid leave, and a secure savings option through a Roth IRA program.

Hiring Process: Assessments will be scored based on answering the question, and proper use of grammar and written communication. Please do not write "see resume" or "can be discussed during the interview" as your answer. We are looking for answers with specific examples and/or thorough, multiple sentence answers to the questions.

Our hiring process begins with a thorough review of resumes to identify candidates who align well with our company’s needs. Following a successful phone screen, we will invite you to an in-person interview with the hiring manager and other relevant management team members.

During the interview, we ask that you use the S.T.A.R. technique. The STAR technique is a structured method used to answer behavioral interview questions by clearly outlining a Situation, Task, Action, and Result. This approach helps candidates provide comprehensive and well-organized responses that showcase their skills and experiences effectively, and helps candidates provide answers that are coherent, concise, and impactful, making it easier for interviewers to assess their competencies and fit for the role. Should you advance past this stage, a job offer will be extended to you. After the offer is accepted, we conduct a background check and proceed with online onboarding.

PST adheres to a hands-off approach whenever possible, prioritizing verbal de-escalation and conflict resolution techniques. The only instance where physical intervention is appropriate is if an individual poses an immediate physical threat to themselves, others, or you. Acceptable physical intervention techniques will be taught during our mandatory Phase I training.

Employment with Precision Security Team is "at-will," meaning that either the employee or the company may terminate the employment relationship at any time, with or without cause or notice, as permitted by Colorado law. This at-will employment relationship cannot be altered or modified except by a written agreement signed by both the employee and an authorized representative of the company.

All knowledge about a site's staff, customers, products, events, procedures, facilities, etc. must remain confidential. Any improper public or personal disclosure will result in discipline up to and including termination.
