Preco is hiring a Full time Production Assistant Supervisor in Somerset, WI.
As a Production Assistant Supervisor, you would oversee all production personnel on your shift as direct reports. Your responsibilities include training and motivating employees while working collaboratively to achieve quality, production, and efficiency targets. You may also handle scheduling of staff and equipment to maintain a smooth workflow. The Assistant Supervisor serves as a key contact for shift employees, providing guidance and direction, and works closely with the Department Supervisor to address issues, provide nightly status updates, and share ideas to improve overall efficiency.
Preco is a leading designer and manufacturer of precision automated processing systems for high-speed and high-accuracy cutting, perforating, welding, and other specialized industrial processing applications. Key Responsibilities :
- Ensure all personnel are aware of and follow Preco safety protocols.
- Responsible for checking and retrieving materials, tools, information and other items for members of the shift in order to keep machines running efficiently, and without quality defects.
- Coordinate work assignments with Scheduler or Supervisor.
- Engage with Production Supervisor to analyze productivity, workflow, methods and procedures, making recommendations to management as appropriate.
- Revise schedules to accomplish priorities, monitor progress, minimize downtime, resolving conflict, report results of the shift production daily
- Oversee the production process : looking for ways to improve efficiencies, meeting all production quotas and deadlines
- Responsible for meeting all SQF (Safe Quality Foods), quality and customer requirements for this position.
- Provide work direction and training for production workers. Give input on performance reviews, coaching, etc.
- Verify that orders are complete, documentation is complete and accurate, parts are packed and labeled, properly report time and quantity correctly and ready to be shipped (all paperwork is filled out complete and correctly)
- Review all non-conformances and work with different departments to determine root causes.
- Assure production team is performing line clean out and work cell clean up prior to next job.
- Review time reporting and efficiency of shift production staff.
- Work with shift Laser Applications Technician’s (LAT’s) to resolve any issues and get the system back in production. Communicate with other shifts regarding additional support if issues are not resolved.
- Train, mentor, and support production personnel on safety procedures and work efficiency.
- Facilitate shift change overs.
- Ensure and maintain part quality to job run specifications.
- Handles minor maintenance and systems checks.
- Responsible for facility lock up and shutdown of unused laser systems.
- Responsible for employees that are in the building during an emergency (i.e. fire, tornado, etc.).
- Maintain a safe, positive, and productive work environment for employees.
- Other tasks assigned by supervisor.
