Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Roller Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating heavy machinery, specifically rollers, to ensure the proper compaction of materials on construction sites. This role is crucial in paving and preparing surfaces for various projects, including roadways and concrete installations.
Duties
- Operate roller equipment to compact soil, asphalt, and other materials on construction sites.
- Collaborate with the crew to prepare surfaces for paving and installation.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on roller equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Assist in the operation of additional machinery such as loaders when required.
- Follow safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding project progress and equipment needs.
- Document daily activities and report any issues or concerns to the site supervisor.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating rollers or similar heavy machinery in a construction setting.
- Familiarity with dump truck, loader and Paver operation,
- Valid driver’s license a must.
- Strong understanding of safety practices on construction sites.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
