Activities Assistant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Activity Assistant to join our team at Montcare Bethesda. As an Activity Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by planning and implementing engaging activities and events. Duties:

• Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing a variety of recreational activities for residents, including games, crafts, outings, and social events
• Provide support and guidance to residents during activities, ensuring their safety and enjoyment
• Collaborate with the Activities Director to develop and maintain an activity calendar that meets the physical, emotional, and cognitive needs of residents
• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as needed
• Foster a warm and welcoming environment that encourages resident participation and engagement
• Maintain accurate records of resident participation and progress
• Support residents with dementia or memory care needs through specialized activities and therapies
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless execution of activities
• Maintain a clean and organized activity area
  
  
  

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience working with seniors or in a related field preferred
• Knowledge of dementia care and memory care techniques is highly desired
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff members
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
