Preferred CFO is an outsourced/fractional CFO firm providing premium Finance, Accounting, HR and Payroll assistance to growing and emerging companies. We are seeking a payroll manager to work with our clients. This position delivers outsourced payroll services to a variety of companies simultaneously. Being a key team member for several different clients provides the payroll manager with broad exposure to different businesses, management styles, and best practices.
This position will be around 20 hours a week. Preferred CFO is a fully remote office, we have never had an office in out 10 years. Very flexible, fun, work environment. As a small company, we do not offer benefits, however, if you go to healthcare.gov, you can see the options you have for benefits.
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of payroll processing, including data entry, payroll calculations, and payment distribution.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of payroll records and reports.
- Stay up-to-date with relevant laws and regulations pertaining to payroll processing, taxes, and deductions.
- Review and reconcile payroll reports, including payroll taxes, benefits, and deductions.
- Coordinate with HR and Finance departments to ensure seamless integration of payroll data.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters in a timely and professional manner.
- Oversee the maintenance of employee payroll records and confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Train and mentor payroll staff to ensure they are knowledgeable and competent in their roles.
- Prepare payroll-related reports for management as needed.
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in payroll processing.
- Strong understanding of payroll laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Proficiency in payroll software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.
