The Lead Advanced Residential Support Staff is responsible for leading staff and clients through their shift successfully. Key Responsibilities:
- Participates as an active member of the leadership team by facilitating interactions and ensuring the program is a safe haven for therapeutic transformation.
- Continuously assesses and positively supports the staff and youth’s interactions by helping to identify client’s strengths, needs, abilities, and preferences.
- Provides direct and indirect supervision of all assigned staff and youth in the home.
- Consistently monitors staff’s ability to implement therapeutic treatment plans along with program expectations.
- Through active participation and positive modeling, works with staff and youth on their daily program goals to encourage the development of healthy life skills including, but not limited to homework, chores, food preparation, recreation, social skills, and individualized treatment plan goals.
- Arrives to work prepared to actively participate in all required duties and responsibilities and meetings including, but not limited to, shift change, individual supervision and staff meetings.
- Facilitates specialized group meetings or interaction as assigned by leadership.
- Communicates with leadership to ensure overall youth needs are addressed (clothing, supplies, correspondence, inventory updated, etc.)
- Implements crisis prevention and management techniques with youth through the use of authorized de-escalation techniques as needed during the shift.
- Documents and/or reports at shift change and/or in client/patient record any exceptional behavior and/or areas of concerns related to client's behaviors/interactions.
- Prepares and administers medications (per physicians’ orders) following the guidelines set forth by the medical team, when assigned.
- Transports youth to and from school, community outings, and other appointments as needed.
- Serves as a role model to all staff and youth by modeling positive verbal and non-verbal behavior at all times and encouraging an environment that promotes hope, motivation, and resilient transformation.
- Supervises, plans, facilitates, and adapts all scheduled activities, as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Program Director, Residential Coordinator, Assistant Residential Coordinator, or Executive Team Member as deemed necessary by the department.
Experience and/or Education Qualifications:
- Must have at least a High School Diploma or GED with experience in Human Services or a related field.
- A Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field is preferred.
- Must have reliable transportation and collision insurance to cover the transport of clients.

Employment Requirements:
- Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint check.
- Completion of New Hire Orientation at the beginning of employment.
- All training requirements including Relias at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter.
- Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance.
- First Aid Certification within 30 days of employment and annually thereafter.
- Obtain CPR certification within 30 days of beginning employment and upon renewal date.

Behavioral Management training completed within thirty (30) days of employment or first available class after start date:
- CPI for Residential programs
- Crisis Management on Relias Learning for Outpatient programs
- Extensive knowledge of the policies, procedures, and regulations of the program to which the associate is assigned.
- Valid Driver’s license in state of residency with an acceptable driving record is required.
- Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age to operate a company-owned vehicle.
- Must be at least twenty-three (23) years of age to operate a company-owned fifteen (15) passenger van.
- Within the first year of employment, receive training on trauma, adolescent behavior, family dynamics, communication skills, incest, sexual abuse, physical and emotional abuse, stress management, and the effect of peer pressure.
Physical Requirements:
ADA Consideration - Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (exists 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, or pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Repetitive movements of hands, fingers, and arms for typing and/or writing during work shift.
Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
