Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for promoting a safe work environment by ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards. This role involves developing training programs, conducting safety audits, and implementing effective safety measures to minimize risks and enhance workplace safety.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA and EPA regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Create and deliver training programs on occupational health, first aid, CPR, and other safety-related topics.
- Prepare detailed reports on safety incidents, findings from audits, and recommendations for improvements.
- Collaborate with management to investigate accidents or incidents and develop strategies to prevent recurrence.
- Stay updated on industry best practices in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) to enhance workplace safety initiatives.
Experience
- Proven experience in a Safety Specialist role or similar position within an industrial or manufacturing environment. Past electrical safety experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, EPA standards, and workers' compensation processes.
- Experience in training development and delivery related to occupational health and safety topics.
- Proficient in report writing with the ability to communicate findings clearly and effectively.
- Certifications in First Aid, CPR, or other relevant safety certifications are preferred.
