Commercial/Residential Utilities Installer Crew

Key Responsibilities:

• Installation: Installing new utility lines (water, sewer, gas, electrical) for commercial and residential buildings and infrastructure.
• Repair: Troubleshooting and repairing damaged or broken utility lines.
• Excavation and Trenching: Digging trenches and preparing sites for utility line installation.
• Coordination: Working with other construction trades to ensure utilities are installed correctly and efficiently.
• Safety: Adhering to safety regulations and procedures when working with underground utilities.
• Mapping and Planning: Mapping out existing utility lines to avoid damage during installation.
• Permitting: Obtaining necessary permits for utility installations.
• Restoration: Restoring the site after utility installation.
• Utility Location: Using skills such as underground utility location as part of their daily work routine.
• Operating Equipment: May be required to operate underground equipment.

Water mains, Sewer lines, Gas lines, Electrical wires, Phone lines, Natural gas, and Fiber optic cables

Qualifications:

• Experienced with Digging/trenching equipment and understand their capabilities and limitations
• Ability to follow instructions
• Basic ability to use small tools/hand tools.
• Ability to read and understand work orders, safety rules and operating instructions
• Must have a valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record
• Must be able to proficiently use locators to safely identify utilities
• Must have good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Must be very safety conscientious
• Must be able to effectively communicate with crew, customers and vendors

Physical Requirements:

• Climb up and down ladders, machinery, and other objects
• Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 LBS as needed with or without assistance
• Employees in this job classification may be exposed to dust, fumes or other airborne pathogens
• Employees may be exposed to toxic or corrosive chemicals as well as moving machinery parts and pieces
• The noise level in the work environment for this position is moderate
• All work is outdoors so employees in this position are regularly exposed to outside weather conditions which can include but is not limited to: extreme heat and cold temperatures; inclement weather such as rain, snow, sleet and dust as well as adverse driving conditions including wet roads, icy roads, and fog

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
