Bookkeeper
A boutique, female-led, community-focused CPA firm is seeking a skilled and personable Bookkeeper to join its growing team. This firm is dedicated to providing exceptional accounting, tax, and advisory services to small businesses and individuals.
The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records for clients while upholding the firm's values of collaboration, client relationships, and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, maintain, and reconcile monthly and periodic financial statements for small business clients
- Record and categorize financial transactions accurately in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online, Xero, or similar)
- Process payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations as needed
- Maintain detailed records of financial activity to ensure compliance with client requirements and industry standards
- Communicate directly with clients to gather necessary financial documents, clarify information, and provide updates
- Assist clients with basic bookkeeping questions and offer guidance on maintaining accurate records
- Build strong, trusting relationships with clients by providing consistent, high-quality service
- Ensure all financial reporting complies with relevant regulations and deadlines
- Support the preparation of year-end financial statements and collaborate with the tax team to provide required information for tax filings
- Identify discrepancies and resolve issues with clients promptly and professionally
- Assist in refining and improving internal bookkeeping processes to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Stay updated on bookkeeping best practices, software updates, and industry trends to deliver the best service to clients
Requirements:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
- 3 years of experience as a Bookkeeper, preferably in a CPA firm or professional services environment
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word)
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple client accounts and meet deadlines
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial recordkeeping
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with clients
Salary: $80,000 - $95,000
