PREMIER PROTECTIVE PACKAGING is located in Walker, MI, we specialize in unique custom packaging applications using Polypropylene (PP) and Polyethylene (PE), Foam, Bubble, and Non-Woven Spun Bond Polypropylene (SBPP) protective packaging materials. Our manufacturing technology utilizes state of the art, customizable sheet, bubble bag, die cut and laminating equipment that allows us to produce custom packaging.
We are looking for an experienced Manufacturing Manager to join our team.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Develops and manages production schedules to meet internal volume, cost and quality goals for multiple manufacturing production processes.
2. Analyzes production and Operational metrics and makes recommendations for improvement and solutions.
3. Develops processes for safety, quality and productivity to meet regulatory requirements.
4. Incorporates regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and cost control policies and programs into manufacturing processes.
5. Ensures that project/department goals are met and adhering to approved budget.
6. Ability to develop extensive knowledge of department processes.
7. Monitor and control labor hours and cost for manufacturing and maintenance according to the budget and business plan
8. Plans and directs an efficient layout of equipment and flow of materials
9. Communicate and enforce all required safety procedures, rules and work practices.
10. Provides oversight to production, maintenance, shipping/receiving and Production Control
11. Oversees staffing and development of all production supervisors and staff
12. Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their job
Job Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s Degree
2. 5-10 years of progressive manufacturing management experience in a small to medium sized environment or 3 plus years experience in production of flexible or protective packaging.
3. Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience
4. Functional knowledge and use of Microsoft office suite
5. Ability to lead teams, manage interpersonal relationships and maximize human performance
6. Hands on management style, with demonstrated capability to communicate to all levels of the organization.
7. Excellent technical and mechanical capability
8. Experience with advanced manufacturing techniques
9. Physical ability to bend, twist, stand and walk most of the shift as well as lift and transport equipment and materials weighing up to 70 pounds
Working Conditions:
1. Inside working conditions with exposure to hot and cold conditions
2. Work includes periodic exposure to fumes, odors, dust, noise and moving objects
3. Work includes exposure to hazards associated with electrical and mechanical equipment
Other duties and responsibilities:
1. Performs other duties as assigned
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $110,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
