Job Summary
Premier Pump & Power is a family-owned manufacturer of industrial pumps and energy solutions. We specialize in large, custom, portable pump packages, and our products are renowned for their performance, serviceability and built-in quality. We proudly serve thousands of customers from our global headquarters in Vancouver, Washington and our manufacturing factory in Houston, Texas.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Junior Buyer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for purchasing materials, components, and services required for production. You will work closely with our team to ensure inventory levels are maintained, materials are procured on time, and costs are controlled. Strong Excel skills and the ability to read and interpret Bills of Materials (BOMs) are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Purchase Orders : Create, issue, and track purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and alignment with production schedules.
- Inventory Control : Monitor stock levels and coordinate with production to avoid shortages while minimizing excess inventory.
- BOM Analysis : Read and interpret Bills of Materials (BOMs) to identify required components and ensure timely procurement.
- Cost Control : Monitor purchase costs and identify opportunities for savings without compromising quality.
- Reporting : Maintain detailed records of procurement activities and provide regular updates to management.
- Problem-Solving : Address issues related to delayed shipments, defective materials, or other procurement challenges in a timely manner.
- Assisting Departments : Help departments follow purchasing procedures and follow up on their orders to ensure timely deliveries.
- Purchase Order Follow-Up : Issue and assist with purchase order follow-ups to ensure on-time deliveries and accurate pricing, terms, and specifications.
- Reporting : Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and related documentation as directed.
- Slow-Moving Product Management : Assist departments and warehouse management in generating periodic reports for slow-moving products.
- Supplier & Material Analysis : Conduct analysis to identify opportunities for cost savings and performance improvements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work across buying, operations, and warehouse teams to streamline procurement processes.
Qualifications
Proficiency in MS Office Suite with a strong background in Excel, including advanced functions (e.g., VLOOKUP, PivotTables).
Employment will be conditioned upon passing a drug screen and background check
