Job Summary:
The Onsite Progress Monitor is responsible for tracking and verifying real-time project progress, ensuring accurate reporting of quantities (labour, material, and equipment. This role requires daily site presence to collect progress and quantities data, validate contractor updates, and integrate information into Foresight’s scheduling platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily Progress Tracking & Verification:
- Conduct site walks to observe, document, and verify ongoing construction activities.
- Ensure contractor-reported progress and quantity information (e.g. crew sizes, manhours being spent, cubic meters of concrete, or miles of wire etc.) aligns with actual on-site conditions.
- Track and record evidence-based updates, including photographs, logs, and documentation.
- The Onsite Progress Monitor will apply quantity surveying principles to verify work completed, track measurable progress against contractual milestones, and ensure accurate documentation of installed quantities for payment applications and schedule updates.
- Schedule Integration & Control:
- Produce a Schedule of Values, Bill of Materials / Bill of Quatities, that the planner can integrated into the P6 schedule.
- Update progress and qualities spent data in Foresight’s online platform from where it will sync to P6.
- Support the Onsite Planner in reconciling discrepancies between reported and actual progress.
- Monitor near-term execution plans (four-to-six-week lookaheads) and ensure alignment with master schedule.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work closely with contractors to ensure timely updates and accountability.
- Participate in weekly contractor meetings to review progress and resolve issues.
- Communicate potential delays or issues to Prime Contractor and Owner’s leadership.
- Reporting & Change Management:
- Assist in generating weekly and monthly progress reports, including milestone tracking and variance analysis.
- Maintain a transparent log of schedule adjustments and their impacts.
- Identify and escalate critical issues that may impact project timelines.
