Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Machine Shop Supervisor to oversee daily manufacturing facility operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a solid background in CNC Programming (FeatureCam), Fanuc machine controls, and the ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings. This role is essential for ensuring that production goals are met while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
This is a 2nd Shift role. Hours are 3pm to 11:30pm, Monday-Friday. Candidates must be available to work overtime, if needed.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of shop personnel to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to production schedules.
- Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure products meet specifications.
- Oversee the operation of CNC machines, including FeatureCam programming, to optimize production processes.
- Train and mentor staff on best practices in blueprint reading, use of hand tools, milling machines, and welding techniques.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and work areas to ensure compliance with safety standards and lean manufacturing principles.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve production issues and improve operational efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of production metrics, inventory levels, and equipment maintenance.
Experience
- High school diploma or GED. Associated degree in CNC machining is preferred.
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing.
- 3 years of CNC Programming (FeatureCam), and Fanuc machine controls.
- Strong knowledge of CNC operations, quality control processes, and lean manufacturing principles.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and the use of precision measuring tools such as calipers.
- Strong knowledge of setting up and operating CNC machinery, including both mills and lathes.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead a team effectively.
- A commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Candidates must be available to work overtime, if needed.
