Job Summary
Seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Purchasing Manager to lead our procurement efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management, contract management, and inventory control. Prior HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing and /or process piping industry experience is required for this role. This role is critical in ensuring that the organization secures the best prices and quality for goods and services while maintaining efficient inventory levels. The Purchasing Manager will collaborate with various departments to align purchasing strategies with organizational goals.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with company objectives.
- Manage the end-to-end purchasing process, including sourcing, negotiating prices, and contract management.
- Oversee inventory management to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize excess inventory.
- Utilize MRP systems to forecast demand and manage supply chain operations effectively.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure advantageous terms and pricing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their purchasing needs and ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular evaluations to maintain quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information using ERP systems and MS Office.
- Stay updated on market trends and changes in supply chain dynamics to make informed purchasing decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- 3 years of proven experience in procurement management or a similar role within a manufacturing environment specific to: HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing and /or process piping industry.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain processes, contract management, and inventory control practices.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and MS office.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of achieving favorable terms with suppliers.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess data for informed decision-making.
- Exceptional communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external vendors.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
