Monitoring Center Operator

Summary

The Monitoring Center Operator ensures efficient and professional security operations within the Command Center. This position is a working level operator who ensures assigned site(s) are being monitored and are visually secure. Responsibilities include completing an assessment of security risks, handling access control, documenting incidents at the facility, and directing other security personnel to address issues when observed. This position will require basic level knowledge of computers and monitoring equipment and an ability to observe for long periods of time.

• Be observant and have a high attention to detail with information technology

• Monitor for disruptions, unlawful activity, or incidents

• Effectively communicate through the monitoring equipment in clear and concise manner

• Ability to sit for extended periods of time

• Complete all the essential functions of a security guard

• Write detailed and professional reports as needed

• Possess knowledge and understanding of company policy, procedure, and operational requirements

• Provide excellent customer service

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail is a must
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and adaptability to other related software (i.e. Microsoft, Video Editing, Adobe Suite, Dream Weaver)
• Judgement and high level of integrity

Physical Demands
This position requires long periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer, standing, and walking, bending, and lifting to 25 lbs. Requires reasonable visual and auditory acuity to see, hear, and interpret observable people, things, behavior, and speech.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
• Full Time, Hourly, Non- Exempt
• Indoor Monitor Center – Office environment
• Work assignments may vary in days of the week and time of day to relate to the 24/7 security operations of the company
• On site - Flint location (s)
• Limited travel may be needed

Required Education and Experience
• Minimally, High school diploma or GED
• Must be 18 years of age
• Intermediate computer and software skills
• Law enforcement, public safety, or military experience preferred
