Responsibilities:
- Assist the orthodontist with various dental procedures, including but not limited to orthodontic adjustments, appliance placement, and removal.
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments following aseptic technique.
- Take and develop dental x-rays as directed by the orthodontist.
- Perform patient assessments, including taking vital signs and recording medical history.
- Provide chairside assistance during orthodontic procedures.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-treatment care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using electronic health record systems such as Epic.
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the front desk as needed.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and anatomy.
- Proficiency in taking dental x-rays and operating radiography equipment.
- At least 1yr of experience as an orthodontic assistanct a plus
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and follow instructions from the orthodontist.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accurate patient records.
- Previous experience as a dental receptionist is a plus.

- 8 hour shift

Experience:
- Dental assisting: 1 year (Required)
- Orthodontic Assistant: 1 year (Preferred)
- Dental Office: 1 year (Required)
License/Certification:
- Radiology Certification (Required)
