Description
Premier Surgical Center is currently hiring for a full-time Surgical Technician at their Erie, PA location. Typical hours would be 4 -days per week Monday - Thursday (30-32 hours week). No late evenings or no weekends no on-call requirements.
The Surgical Technician position will be under the supervision of the Clinical Director & Physician. Performs scrubbing and assisting duties within and support of the sterile field during operative procedures.
Other responsibilities include:
Assures proper care and maintenance of all surgical instrumentation and equipment.
Demonstrates knowledge of principles and practices of aseptic technique.
Demonstrates knowledge of equipment, instruments, procedures, implants and supplies used in the operating room.
Able to work at an accelerated pace and in situations that demand patience, tact, stamina, and endurance.
Ensures materials and instruments for procedures are ordered and available as needed.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Certified from an accredited Surgical Technician program or documented relevant experience.
Must be able to achieve CPR certification within 60 days of employment.
Ability to relate and work effectively with others.
Demonstrates skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care and to meet documentation standards.
Willingness to participate in goal-setting and educational activities for own professional advancement.
Previous experience is preferred.
