Primary Function:
The System Administrator is responsible for implementing, configuring, and maintaining the company’s servers, operating systems, business applications, and baseline configurations. He or she installs, configures, and troubleshoots computers, wireless networks, IP telephone systems, and virtual server environments, in addition to performing the duties below.I,A805_2886_0
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain VMware environments, including ESXi hosts and vCenter Server.
- Administer and support Microsoft Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
- Perform regular system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes.
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, software, and applications in both Windows and Linux based environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues in a timely manner.
- Implement and manage backup and recovery solutions.
- Ensure security best practices are followed and systems are compliant with company policies.
- Provide support for Linux systems as needed, including basic administration and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to ensure seamless integration and operation of systems.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and changes.
- Must have the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in information systems/technology (or equivalent) and 3 to 5 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
To perform this job successfully the candidate should have proven experience in customer service and the ability to function well on a team. The System Administrator will be expected, at times, to take a leadership role in assigned IT projects and tasks. The candidate should possess working knowledge of the following:
- 3-5 years of experience with VMware environments, including ESXi and vCenter.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
- General knowledge of Linux systems and basic administration skills.
- Experience with system monitoring tools and backup solutions.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., VMware Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate) are a plus.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit in a stationary position for extended periods of time while working at a computer. The employee is frequently required to walk and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus. The job requires occasional overtime.
Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet – typical of what is generally found in an office setting. The employee will occasionally find it necessary to enter a manufacturing environment. The manufacturing environment is typical of that type of setting – employees may be exposed to inclement weather, loud noises, tripping hazards; and there may be exposure to sparks, welding arc, open flame, and moving equipment.
Travel: Regular travel is not anticipated for this position. Overall travel is expected to be less than 10-15% of total work hours.
