Inspector Job Description
The Inspector plays a vital role in ensuring the quality of materials received and maintaining safe and efficient traffic management in collaboration with the Scale Operator. This position is critical to upholding company standards and ensuring smooth daily operations.
Primary Responsibilities: Material Inspection and Quality Control:
- Thoroughly review and comprehend all inspector training materials provided by the company.
- Inspect all incoming loads to identify and prevent prohibited materials from entering the facility. Prohibited materials include but are not limited to: liquids (fuels, oil, gasoline), refrigerants, batteries, mercury switches, lead wheel weights, CRTs, closed containers of any kind, PCB-containing materials, radioactive substances, asbestos-containing materials, trash, concrete, and wood.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Complete detailed and accurate inspection reports in a timely manner to ensure the company maintains proper quality tracking and compliance. - Traffic and Site Management:
- Oversee and manage vehicle traffic patterns to facilitate safe and efficient offloading of materials at designated areas, such as the light iron pad or other specified locations within the yard.
- Ensure the scale and driveway areas are clean, organized, and free of debris at all times.
- Stakeholder Relations:
- Foster positive relationships with key suppliers, truck drivers, and other stakeholders to promote smooth and efficient operations at the scale.
- Safety Compliance:
- Strictly adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all truck drivers, customers, and other personnel in and around the scale area consistently follow safety protocols.
- Cross-Training and Support:
- Learn the operation of the scale to provide coverage when the Scale Operator is unavailable, ensuring continuity of operations.

- Qualifications:
- Strong organizational skills
- Proficient in quality audits and quality control processes
- Experience with quality inspection and assurance methodologies
- Familiarity with ISO 13485, FDA regulations, and CGMP standards
- Skilled in using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers
- Knowledge of quality management systems and relevant software, including Calypso
- Ability to analyze data and implement quality systems effectively
