SUMMARY: The Construction Manager (CM) - Electrical is responsible for the scheduling, supervision, training and direction of Premise Foremen, crew members and outside subcontractors on Premise, Inc. projects. The CM orders materials and ensures that projects are properly planned and set up for success. This includes detailed Scope of Work (SOW) and job books with the required materials and proper technical expertise on site for the job. The CM monitors and ensures all assigned sites stay on track with milestones and remain on or under budget while meeting established project goals. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise in electrical systems, and exceptional people management skills.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

  • Project Management:
    1. Plan, coordinate, and manage projects construction from start to finish, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards.
    2. Maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
    3. Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective measures to ensure timely completion.
    4. Ensure project resources such as materials, tools, equipment are scheduled and delivered per the project plan.
    5. Conduct regular site inspections to ensure adherence to project specifications, quality standards, and safety guidelines.
    6. Coordinate and communicate with project stakeholders, including project managers, customers, and subcontractors.
  • Team Leadership and Coordination:
    1. Supervise and lead a team of electricians, technicians, and subcontractors, ensuring efficient utilization of resources and adherence to project goals and ratios.
    2. Assign tasks, provide technical guidance, and resolve any conflicts or issues that may arise.
    3. Foster a collaborative work environment, promoting effective communication and teamwork among team members.
    4. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members to support their professional development.
    5. Manages, reviews and approves daily time and reporting from assigned Foreman and Subcontractors
  • Electrical System Design and Implementation:
    1. Review electrical engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents to ensure accuracy and feasibility.
    2. Coordinate the procurement of electrical materials and equipment, ensuring compliance with project requirements and budget constraints.
    3. Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems, verifying compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
  • Quality Control and Safety:
    1. Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure the highest standards of workmanship and compliance with project requirements.
    2. Conduct regular inspections to identify and rectify any defects, deviations, or non-compliance issues.
    3. Promote and enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations, creating a safe work environment for all personnel on-site.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • In addition to the above, other required qualifications for this role are:
  1. – 5 years of related experience (solar, small cell, power plant telecom work, electrical) as a Foreman or Construction Manager in the Electrical field
  2. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and regulations.
  3. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  4. Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and meet tight deadlines.
  5. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  6. Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to electrical construction.
  7. Professional certifications in project management or construction management are preferred.
  8. MN Electric Journeyworker license required.
  9. Proficient with Microsoft Office products
  10. Possess a valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a clean driving record
  11. Flexibility to travel 80% of the time

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit, walk, lift, squat, push, pull, climb stairs and ladders, hear, see, reach, grasp and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, telephone, power tools, motorized vehicles and equipment. The employee must have the ability to occasionally lift more than 50 lbs.

 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT: 

While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee will work both inside in a normal indoor office environment and outside at remote job sites. The employee may be exposed to extreme weather conditions, including heat and cold and wet or humid. The employee may work in high places, and/or work around moving mechanical parts, vehicles and other equipment. The employee may also work in areas where the noise volume is loud and constant. The employee must have the ability to travel to remote job sites up to 60% as needed which may include occasional overnight stays.
