About your new role:
The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for processing Accounts Payable and managing a variety of financial tasks with a focus on confidentiality. This role requires attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to maintain financial records and documentation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Process Accounts Payable to ensure accurate recording of payable transactions and timely payments to suppliers.
Maintain the cash receipt log for daily deposits from checks received in the mail.
Ensure that inventory receipts are properly invoiced.
Log problem invoices to verify that items have been properly GRN’d in ROSS.
Maintain historical records of Accounts Payable including purchase invoice reports, payment run edit lists, aged credit reports, and vendor/supplier file maintenance.
Process balanced daily updates from the Purchase Order and Accounts Payable modules to the General Ledger and maintain balanced Period Control Reports.
Add new suppliers in ROSS and gather necessary tax information for year-end reporting.
Maintain Excel files tracking historical data on selected accounts.
Code and reconcile credit card activity to completed expense reports.
Assist in generating year-end audit work papers and gathering necessary supporting documents.
Prepare miscellaneous checks on a daily basis and allocate them into the correct General Ledger accounts; process weekly check run.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies between invoices, supplier statements, and initial records.
Postmark daily outgoing mail and sort daily incoming mail.
Maintain petty cash.
What you need:
Associate Degree in Accounting or High School diploma equivalent with a minimum of one to two years of relevant experience, or three years of relevant experience.
Above-average computer skills, including proficiency with accounting software and Excel.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times.
Ability to work under tight time constraints.
Ability to process a high volume and variety of data while maintaining accuracy.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work well as part of a team.
