Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual for the position of Spanish Instructor. This role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about teaching and has a strong background in childhood development. The Spanish Instructor will be responsible for creating engaging lesson plans, managing classroom behavior, and effectively communicating with students of varying abilities, including those on the autism spectrum.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Utilize behavior management techniques to create a positive learning environment.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to foster collaboration and support student success.
- Employ various teaching methodologies, including Montessori principles, to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
- Assess student progress through standardized testing and provide feedback to guide future instruction.
- Maintain records of student performance using a Learning Management System (LMS).
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and improve instructional strategies.
- Support students in their understanding of math concepts as they relate to language learning.
Qualifications
- Experience working with students, particularly those with autism or other developmental challenges.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English and Spanish.
- Proven ability in lesson planning and curriculum development tailored for diverse learners.
- Knowledge of behavior management strategies to support positive classroom dynamics.
- Familiarity with standardized testing practices and assessment tools.
- Understanding of childhood development principles and their application in an educational setting.
- Experience with Montessori methods is a plus but not required.
