Prequel is seeking candidates for an IT Systems / Information Assurance Administrator position for a long-term DoD contract engagement. This role is fully remote but may require occasional travel to military facilities. Key responsibilities include :
Key Responsibilities :
System Administration
Troubleshoot technical issues, often coordinating with vendors and external support teams.
Conduct system vulnerability scans using tools like NESUS / ACAS and SCAP, ensuring compliance with security standards.
Information Assurance Administration
Ensure compliance with NIST 800-53 requirements and federal regulations regarding PII, PHI, and HIPAA data protection.
Manage information and artifacts in eMASS to maintain Authorization to Operate (ATO) approvals.
Collaborate with internal and government teams to interpret Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements.
Develop security policies and procedures and provide evidence of compliance.
Work with DoD cloud policy requirements to implement RMF-compliant applications in cloud environments.
Assist with Plan of Actions & Milestones (POAM) entries, security exercises, penetration tests, and accreditation documentation.
Key Skills & Competencies :
Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows system administration .
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash and PowerShell .
Understanding of NIST 800-53 RMF policies , DoD security frameworks , and compliance requirements .
Experience managing eMASS and authoring RMF plans and SOPs.
Minimum Requirements :
Security Clearance : Must qualify for a Secret clearance .
Experience :
5 years of general IT experience.
3 years in Information Assurance, working with STIGs and RMF .
1-2 years in risk assessments, security policy implementation, and IT security controls.
