Caregiver Assistant

Job Summary

As a Resident Support Specialist at Presbyterian Villages of Michigan, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and comfort of our residents. Key Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities such as grooming, eating, dressing, and bathing, promoting their independence and dignity.
• Encourage residents to participate in activities that enhance their quality of life, such as exercise programs, social events, and hobbies.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records of resident progress and services provided, using judgment to report any changes in condition to management.
• Contribute to a safe and clean environment by performing tasks such as changing bed linens, cleaning resident rooms, and assisting with meal preparation.
• Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to provide resident care, including monitoring vital signs and administering medication as directed.
• Collect and process specimens for testing, following established protocols and safety procedures.
• Provide exceptional customer service, responding to resident needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or equivalent required; experience in caregiving or a related field preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certifications a plus.
• Ability to work varied shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on empathy and compassion.
• Ability to lift, bend, and move with ease, as well as work in a fast-paced environment.
