Overview
The Manager of Annual Giving and Events is responsible for the development, managementand implementation of a comprehensive program designed to increase support through annualgiving, and for coordinating all aspects of PVM Foundation events, including fundraising, donorrecognition and cultivation events. This individual will also be responsible for managing aportfolio of donor prospects as well as setting and meeting fundraising goals. This individual willhave excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a proven track record of success inraising funds through annual giving and special events. A bachelor’s degree in marketing,business administration or a related field is required and a working knowledge of Raiser’s Edgedonor software is preferred.
Responsibilities
1. Develop and manage a comprehensive annual giving program, including establishingand meeting fundraising goals through direct mail, personal solicitation and electronicsolicitation strategies, and by incorporating annual fund “best practices.”2. Coordinate and lead all PVM Foundation fundraising and cultivation events including butnot limited to the annual Gala; Inspire Possibilities Breakfast; Calvin, Sterling & PetersonMission Makers Societies donor recognition event; and individual project and Villageevents as needed.3. Manage and produce all promotional materials, mailings, acknowledgement letters, webupdates, e-communications, reporting and all other details related to annual giving andspecial events.4. Develop and maintain a portfolio of donor prospects for the purposes of securing giftsthrough proposals and personal solicitation. Educate prospects on PVM and PVMFoundation activities and needs, and complete successful moves management usingfundraising techniques and knowledge.5. Monitor fundraising progress of all assigned donor prospects to determine appropriatestrategies to maximize fundraising.6. Analyze data and submit reports (verbal and written) to communicate fund developmentprogress and issues, and to develop fundraising strategies.7. Develop and administer annual budget in support of fund development initiatives relatedto annual giving and special events.Department: FoundationFLSA Status: Non-ExemptReports to: Director of Grants ManagementTravel: 25-50%8. Build relationships with executive directors and administrators to identify potentialprospects of individuals with annual, major, planned or capital giving potential.9. Build positive relationships with residents, family members of residents, Village boardmembers, community members, and local foundations through visibility and provideeducation on fundraising opportunities.10. Guide and assist Villages in fundraising by providing suggestions and expertise asrequested.11. Assist in strengthening other functional programs and initiatives of the organization byproviding new ideas, and promoting and participating in events (e.g., communityoutreach programs).12. Create and maintain a positive atmosphere of leadership including continuous qualityimprovement, teamwork, mutual respect, professionalism, and accountability.13. Attend and participate in all appropriate meetings and training opportunities in order tokeep informed on current information and skill development.14. Follow established policies and procedures including but not limited to:o Presbyterian Villages policies and procedures.o Presbyterian Villages of Michigan Foundation policies and procedures.o Safety policies and procedures.o Federal, state and local regulations.15. Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or a related field. Experience equivalent to education considered.
Experience: Two to three years’ experience in event planning and/or fund development.
Computer Skills:
Must be able to operate a computer and intermediate knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, presentation and email software.
Working knowledge of Raiser’s Edge software preferred.
Knowledge of web development preferred

Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) at a level generally commensurate with a college degree.
