What You’ll Do:
Staff Management:
Lead the Crew: Direct the Urban Landcare crew in the maintenance of gardens, vertical gardens, and landscapes, ensuring tasks are completed on time.
Plant Knowledge: Use your knowledge of plant culture to train crew members and help them grow in their skills.
Foster a Positive Work Environment: Contribute to a harmonious and productive work environment that promotes teamwork and cooperation.
Production Management:
Coordinate Activities: Plan and oversee activities that develop and maintain urban scaping environments.
Ongoing Training: Assist the production manager with training for the crew on tasks such as installation, pruning, and garden bed maintenance.
Supply Management: Identify and address any supply or equipment needs for the project at customer sites.
Quality Assurance:
Client Relations: Maintain professionalism with clients, paying attention to detail and addressing issues as needed.
Work Ethic & Attention to Detail: Ensure quality standards are met through adaptive problem-solving and a strong work ethic.
Customer Service: Organize and clean the facilities, as well as care for crew equipment and trucks, ensuring everything meets the high standards expected.
Site Appearance: Guarantee that clients’ properties meet or exceed expectations through meticulous care and maintenance.
Safety:
Safe Equipment Use: Demonstrate safe operation, care, and handling of all service line tools and equipment.
Rooftop Garden Safety: Ensure crews working on rooftop gardens adhere to specific safety requirements and training related to these sites.
Operational Policies & Procedures:
Follow Regulations: Adhere to all employment-related issues, company policies, and federal, state, and local ordinances, including OSHA and ADA compliance.
What We’re Looking For:
✔️ Landscaping Expertise – Knowledge of urban landscaping practices, including garden and vertical garden maintenance.
✔️ Leadership Skills – Proven ability to lead and train a team, ensuring tasks are completed safely and on time.
✔️ Plant Knowledge – Familiarity with plant culture and horticultural practices, with a willingness to share that knowledge with others.
✔️ Customer-Focused – Strong organizational and customer service skills to meet or exceed client expectations.
✔️ Problem-Solving Ability – Demonstrates adaptive problem-solving skills with a focus on quality and efficiency.
✔️ Safety-Conscious – A commitment to safety for both crew members and clients, especially when working in rooftop garden environments.
✔️ Dependable & On-Time – Consistently reports to work on time, ready to lead the crew and tackle the day’s tasks.
Your Schedule:
Average Workweek: 8-10 hours per day, 5-6 days per week, April through October.
Flexible Hours: Schedule may adjust depending on project needs and weather conditions.
